In optimized mode the battery works fine but when you turn on the medium power saving mode the battery drains at a drastically faster rate

Good. A little improved from that January Patch update. The February patch update ruined the camera but they fixed it in One UI 2.0.

but that front camera has been reduced from 25mp to 16mp huge disappointment

@meocrazee, Put the selfie camera into 3:4H mode(16MP) then switch to wide angle selfie mode, click a picture and see for the resolution, it's 25MP, not 16MP.
