Yes i think so because the latest patch is November patch but i deliberately downloaded October patch from the above link and installed it..then i checked for update but it showed its up to date which is wrong..November patch was available but it didnt show up...thats why i said this method doesn't seem convincing for me
To check how effective this method was..if it had auto detected the new latest patch then i would say this method was effective..but since it failed to detect the latest patch there is simply no use in following this method unless you plan on following this method each time a new patch is released..
