Although Samsung has its own messaging app, by default Google messages is present on homescreen and that starts receiving messages by default.
I have never thought of using Samsung's own message app.

So what's your choice guys?
What do you use and why?

Samsung messages or
Google messages?

Even Samsung copies OTPs in apps automatically and displays OTP for copying or typing.

Samsung Messages too have auto delete. See screen shot

For me, 30 days is like a decade when it comes to OTPs. 😊

It is totally user dependent. If you have samsung ecosystem, samsung messages integrated quite well. I trust samsung more than google 😂 😂. That is the main reason to use samsung messages. Google messages is trying to make a use offline sms and online chats to redefine modern messaging. Samsung cloud sync/backup works for samsung messages while google cloud backup the messages for google messages.

I use Samsung messages as i have samsung phone, samsung watch, and windows laptop. Everything is connected quite well. If I am working on laptop, I get OTPs on laptop. Simple UI, no additional features, optimised for samsung devices.

Spot on !!. Samsung is a closed loop eco system. Google is open source and hackable.
