It is totally user dependent. If you have samsung ecosystem, samsung messages integrated quite well. I trust samsung more than google 😂😂. That is the main reason to use samsung messages. Google messages is trying to make a use offline sms and online chats to redefine modern messaging. Samsung cloud sync/backup works for samsung messages while google cloud backup the messages for google messages.
