Cloud Transfer aka Temporary Backup
What is it?
- A new and convenient way to keep hold of user data
- Temporary Cloud Backup is an ideal service for ensuring data is preserved in various scenarios where users may be worried about losing their data, such as when getting a smartphone reset or repaired.
- Users can choose to upload their data to Samsung Cloud storage via their Samsung Account, where it is kept safe and ready to be downloaded again.
- Data is stored for up to 30 days from the date of users’ initial backup. Within this period, users can restore their data whenever they want.
- Users are notified when approaching their time limit before their data is automatically deleted.
- It is a free service, with no total storage limit, but individual file size is capped at 100GB. No need to use a PC or any external memory device for data transfer, just Wi-Fi/Mobile data is required.

Enhanced Data Protection
What is it?
- The Enhanced Data Protection (EDP) is Samsung's security feature to protect user’s personal information End to End while syncing or backing up on Samsung Cloud.
- This technology uses encryption algorithms based on specific keys shared between devices logged in with same Samsung Account (SA).
- User can sync, backup and restore the personal information or data on the respective device to or from the Samsung Cloud with a recovery code that is generated only once while setting up the Enhanced Data Protection feature.
What can be protected?
- Backup: Call logs, Messages, Clock, Settings, Home screen and Apps
- Sync: AR Emoji, Bluetooth, Samsung Health, Wi-Fi, Samsung Pass
How to access?
- Path #1: Samsung cloud > Settings > Enhanced Data Protection

Please Note: Recovery code is generated once and cannot be viewed again. So, user should store it securely somewhere. Without recovery code, it will not be possible to recover the data in exceptional cases.
