Tech TalkWell buddy! If you’re talking about standalone digital DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, then yeah—Samsung used to be in that game. They made some solid full-fledged cameras like the NX series, launched in 2010. These were mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses and got quite a bit of attention at the time.
Unfortunately, that market didn't work for them. Eventually, they exited the consumer digital camera market around 2015 as smartphone cameras started taking over and among the monopoly of big player like you mentioned, Sony, Nikon, Canon, it was hard for them to keep up. So, it decided to shift away from standalone camera systems and focus on camera modules for mobile devices instead. That move paid off since Samsung now leads in smartphone camera sensor technology. Now, we have high-resolution sensors like 100MP, 200MP and features like the legendary 100x zoom.
