Galaxy Techfluencer topic for the week: Random Access Memory

RAM is an essential component that is used for the Read, Write/Modify or Execute operation. It could be an image, text file or any application. All of these are loaded to RAM before performing any operation. With RAM, operations can be done at a better speed resulting in better user experience.

The function of RAM in any device, be it Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, etc, is the same. The word RAM itself is self-explanatory— ‘Random Access Memory’. It has extremely fast data transfer speed varying from 2Gbps to more than 30Gbps (depending on DDR of the RAM). These are the houses where apps and other background processors do their job. These also save the processed data from the processor and send them to the graphics unit to display the results. Once it is displayed, it is either instantly deleted or kept on standby depending on the type of activity(in games it is not deleted instantly.

RAM (Random access memory) is a volatile memory (power gone, data gone), when you open a programme or file from your computer it is initially stored in hard disk and then goes to RAM (the loading time you see is the same), why because RAM is extremely fast memory and you don't want a game take 2-3 seconds for a single frame to load instead of having good specs but no RAM, btw there is also a cashe memory in cpu which is amazingly fast memory as compared to RAM but can hold a small chunk of data nowadays they are of ~5mb , more cashe is better so give importance of cashe while buying a cpu and faster is the RAM more good it is (prefer ddr4, buy ddr5(available for graphics Card) if available for desktops/laptops and lpddr4/lpddr5 in phones) and use ssd instead of hdd to reduce the loading time, now there is more for it but the comment is for RAM not ssd
