Many users have been hoping to see live notifications from apps like Uber, Zomato, Swiggy, and others integrated into the Now Bar on Samsung devices. While this feature isn’t available yet in One UI 7.0, there’s good news on the horizon.
---
Why It’s Not Here Yet
Samsung hasn’t integrated full live notification support into the Now Bar yet because the required Live Notifications API is part of Android 16, which is still in development.
---
What’s Coming
- Google is expected to officially release the Live Notification API with the stable rollout of Android 16 later this year.
- Samsung’s One UI 8.0, which will be based on Android 16, is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2025.
- Once One UI 8.0 rolls out, we can expect Samsung’s developers to integrate this API into the Now Bar, bringing real-time updates from apps like Uber, Zomato, food delivery, rideshare, and more—all in a glance.
---
Other Brands Already Testing It
Interestingly, OnePlus has already started testing Live Notification features in its Android 16 beta builds, so the capability is proven. That gives us more reason to be optimistic about Samsung doing the same or even better.
---
In summary, while it’s not here yet, the foundation is being laid at the Android OS level, and we can expect Samsung to catch up with One UI 8.0. Just a little more patience, and we’ll likely see the Now Bar evolve into something even more powerful and useful.
