What is PPI?

Pixel per inch. Then what is a pixel? Pixel is a smallest element on a graphical image which when combined together to form a complete image or video or any text etc that is diplayed on a display.
What is resolution?
Resolution defined as number of pixels on a diplay.
For example
A display with 1080×1920(full HD) has better resolution than 720×1280(HD)
Thus higher resolution means higher clarity of output on display
Why PPI is important?
A diplay having higher PPI will display clearer and better image quality.
How is PPI calculated?
Consider that a phone has a display with resolution 1080×1920 with screen size(diagonal) 5.2 inches
I have made a calculation which is shown in the picture below
In this way you may calculate your phone PPI with your display resolution and screen size.
Recently released S20 has a whopping PPI around 563 with display resolution 1440×3200 pixels with 6.2 inch screen.
So before buying a phone consider screen resolution ,PPI and screen size for better output display. Hope this information helps.
