Charging Speeds
There might be several reasons for your device battery to drain faster than usual, even when it is plugged into a charger. A common cause is running several power-intensive apps in tandem, such as using GPS navigation and streaming music on your device connected to Bluetooth while plugged into the car charger. In such situations, you might notice your battery is draining faster than it can charge.

Your device’s battery might also drain faster because of the charging technique. Charging your device with a faulty charger or USB cable, or plugging your device into a computer or laptop can cause your battery to charge slower than expected.

If your battery continues to drain while plugged in

  • If you do not need to use your device at the moment, turn it off and plug it into the charger.
  • Use the manufacturer-certified charger and USB cable designed to work with your device.
  • Plug your device into a wall charger for faster charging than connections to a computer or laptop.
  • Avoid using several functions, such as GPS, Bluetooth, or streaming music in parallel. Turn these functions off when you are not actively using them.
  • Your device screen is one of the main culprits of battery drain. Turn down your screen brightness or use Auto Brightness.
  • Software updates may provide improvements and resolve issues. Always check to see if you are running the latest app and operating system updates.
  • Restarting your device can sometimes resolve minor issues.
  • As a last resort, reset your device to factory settings and test charging again. This will help you figure out whether or not it is an issue with your apps or the device itself. Remember to back your data up before doing a factory reset.
