It seems most of the people here are unaware of the uses of the Secure folder, which provides the best security in an Android device today. That is why everyone is demanding s secure which is a gimmick compared to the secure folder(s secure had so many drawbacks and security was only in name). So, here is how I use it:

1) Install all apps which need to be locked inside secure folder ONLY.
Eg: Google pay. If it's outside the secure folder, uninstall it and install it inside the secure folder only. The same goes for all apps which you want to be locked.

2) If you want to lock away some photos and videos, select them all from the gallery and move them to secure folder. Or you can take photos using the camera app in the secure folder so that the photos will be directly saved in the secure gallery.

3)Create a home screen shortcut for the apps you need. Then click on the shortcut and you can directly open the app by using your fingerprint/password without having to first open the secure folder. (Just like how you use an app lock).

4) You can lock folders in gallery even without any of these by using the gallery settings itself. So that's there.

Using this method you can lock almost all apps barring something like the phone app.
The secure folder is the best way to secure things if it is available on your device.
👍

Nb: The only drawback is that it creates a shortcut for all the apps, then the home screen may look cluttered like an iPhone. But then you can always arrange them in a nice way you like.

Frankly i still feel the Secure Folder is a downgrade.

For example, if you want to pass your phone to someone, and you unlock the secure folder, all the apps inside the Secure folder can be opened.

this was not the case with S Secure, individually the apps will ask for authentication.

now coming to apps like gallery - when you take a pic, you have to manually move the pics to secure folder to secure it (everytime!) and a simple app lock on the Gallery app would have solved this!

No clue what was samsung team thinking when trying to push this without thinking over all the scenarios. And on top made a wonderful move that made S-Secure uncompatible too for S-series!

S-Secure was a simple tool and quite useful.  But Secure folder is yet to be made fully powerful for privacy.

Why would anyone handover the phone after unlocking the secure folder?? That's not at all sensible.
All things that anyone want to use your phone for is already outside secure folder. So there is NO need to unlock the secure folder unless you want them to specifically see the contents in it!!

S secure was utter useless. That's why they removed it. Anyone could go to settings and un install it without any authentication. There by unlocking all apps under it.
Secure folder if used intelligently can be the best Android security feature out there.

Hey all. I recently bought the s22 ultra and I'm having trouble using the secure folder. The gallery was already inside the secure folder. But there are no images. I checked the gallery which is available on the homescreen but the gallery inside secure folder is empty. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

You should go to your normal gallery, then select the images you want to shift to secure folder gallery -click on the 3 dots (more) and select move to secure folder.
If you want all the photos taken automatically to go to secure folder, then you should use the camera app inside secure folder to take photos.
