Can a TV purchased in the US be used In Mexico

I purchased a Samsung TV in the USA and brought it down to Mexico. Many of my friends purchase TV from the USA and bring down to Mexico with no problems.  I am getting an error code when logging in the the Samsung server and the TV can not find over the air channels. But the US and Mexico use the same over the air technology. Can I use this TV bought in USA be used in Mexico.
