Tech TalkI would like to suggest one of the most underrated feature when using pro mode in our Samsung cameras.
The Cameras have reached a stage where we can create high quality films straight out of our phone. Pro video mode has ample manual controls for us to play with, but I felt there is one missing feature .... and that feature is
"Zebra stripes for controlling exposure"
Here is an example:
As you can see in the above picture, wherever there is bright areas in the frame, those areas will be highlighted in the form of zebra stripes in our camera. This will help us to judge the exposure of our shot and adjust them accordingly. Sometimes (infact most of the times) it's difficult to judge the correct exposure for our scene just by looking at the histogram and the EV scale.
This is where zebra stripes features provides us with a guide to achieve the right exposure everytime. Just like how there is focus peaking to assist us in nailing the manual focus, zebra stripes feature assist in adjusting the bright areas of our shots.
This would definitely be a game changer feature if implemented in our cameras. I request Samsung to consider this innovation and enable it
