It seem to be the case that with every One UI update there is an increased battery drain. Phones working perfectly fine just before the update suddenly goes crazy. Is it to make people upgrade to the newer device ? Why shouldn't we have the option of rolling back to the previous version ? Why isn't there a detailed changelog what's fixed and what's changed ? Why there is no transparency in the security updates ? We really don't care about the no.of updates but the quality of updates. Reports show that consumers are switching to a newer device very rarely these days. This will certainly affect the sales of new devices in the market as less people will be buying them. The no.1 factor for any person to hold onto their device will be battery life. Brands know this too that's why there are smartphones advertised today with 6000mAh and 7000mAh . What's the point of having flagship specs of a 1 or 2 yr old device if the battery sucks and doesn't even last a day in a single charge ? But no one can pinpoint the manufacturer as they will easily escape saying the device is old blah...blah or the apps are causing it etc...but the ground work for the deterioration would have started 6 months after the phone's launch. How do I say so ? I own a S10 Lite. The device was launched on January 2020 and was released on Feb 2020. I bought the S10 lite on August 2020 and it was running One UI 2.1 out of the box and I was very satisfied with the performance of the device on a single charge the phone lasted for close to two days and took excellent pictures and video. Then came One UI 2.5 my S10 Lite was 2.5 months or 3months old when I updated the device (just before the launch of S20FE). After the update the phone's battery started draining rapidly and the picture quality reduced with unnatural sharpness and focus issues. The phone lasted only 12 hours on a single charge. Mind you this was a 3 month old phone running perfectly fine with the same settings and apps on One UI 2.1 and it lasted 1.5 days to 2 days. Now that the S20 is a year old (S21 will be launched) the already exynos 990 drains battery further on One UI 3.0.

If you think by reducing the battery life of our phones you can make us upgrade to a newer device. Sorry that won't be happening. This is my last Samsung phone.

I am also using s10 lite friend.. I purchased on very first sale or pre register Feb 1 week I got, frm there onwards like u said many problems with evry update I faced. now
I am own flagship phone with full of cons.
1.Camara quality degraded, colour shifting. no clarity in rear cam.
2. Biggest problem now I am having with this phone is.. charging is not happening when phone is ON mode, only in switch off mode its working.
It's not charger problem as same is working in switchoff condition n for other phones also working.
I cleared cache partition.
2 times reset, after 2nd time reset I left my backup also.. jst to over come any settings .. issue with backup.
2nd time reset works for 1 day, phone is superfast charging whenevr connected.
But now again same charging is not happening in genral.. I have to shutdown n keep charge and have to restart aftr 10 percent then also slow charging..

morever worst support SAMSUNG
Thy will say physical inspection needd visit near by store.. bhai in all this scenario where physical parts came .. no socket problem , no charger problem, no port problem.

Finally I conclude
A Brand that only famous for its Service centers #SAMSUNG

Reading these i can't shut my mouth.
I own a m31. I know it's a midrange device. The main thing for buying this one was the 6000mah battery. After i bought it, within first 10 days i realised that i have invested in wrong brand. It was running on one ui "core" 2.0 later i got 2.1 and 2.5 update.
Now this phone lasted on 100% battery for 14 hours in idle condition (actually at night with mobile data on). But now i am on one ui "core" 2.5 and yesterday i left my phone at 74% charge. Today at morning i found in 69% in same condition as mentioned above.
After updates it consumed about 6 to7 % of battery per hour with my online classes through zoom. And now u will hate this yesterday i measured that it ate 11% battery in an hour. I am speechless. My father's phone(which is from motorola) with 3500mah battery gives a sot of about 6 and half hours and in my phone "6000mah" i get nearly 7 and half to 8 hours. I have made a great mistake trusting Samsung as a nonchinese brand.

Totally understandable. A smartphone rated 6000mAh should surely do better but clearly the updates aren't helping with that.

Totally understand the part about the non-Chinese brand. It is that very reason I didn't go for OnePlus.
