The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's camera bump reaches 4.5mm (compared to 2.4mm on the S25 Ultra), driven by the large-aperture main camera and telephoto lens. Hopefully, the improvement will justify this increased thickness. Samsung could easily accommodate a larger telephoto sensor within this thickness, but unfortunately, it's still 1/2.52" at 50MP, making it the smallest telephoto sensor in a global flagship phone by 2026.
However, this also suggests that Samsung seems to be exploring even larger bump designs in preparation for future camera upgrades. Regardless, Samsung's camera manager should resign.
