Bixby was launched in 2021 for Indian English. It started with the ability to understand the Indianized English accent when spoken to.
With its latest update in August 2023, Samsung has now enhanced Bixby to also respond in the Indianized English accent. The new accent provides Indian users with a more natural and Indianized experience while interacting with Bixby on their Samsung devices.
How to enable?
Please update to the latest version of Bixby Application to experience the new Indianized English response (check this by going to Bixby Settings -> About Bixby).
Users can use Voice 1 by setting the language to “English (India)” & the voice style to “Voice 1” (Set this by going to Bixby Settings -> Language and voice style).
Note: Users that have enabled On-device Bixby would be required to download the Voice 1 package by clicking on the download icon next to the voice profile as illustrated in the image below.
By incorporating the Indian accent, Bixby will provide a natural user experience to Indian users by accurately pronouncing Indian entities such as contacts, locations etc.
The new voice is supported across all Bixby enabled devices such as Mobiles, Tablets, Smart watches, TV and Family Hub.
With this feature, Samsung is reaffirming its commitment to providing innovative and user-friendly technology that meets the unique needs and preferences of its diverse user base.
