It's been widely reported that the Samsung devices are having the issue of battery swelling within about 2 years of purchase. Now this is validated by the famous tech youtubers Arun(Mrwhosetheboss) and Marcus(Mkbhd).

This is a SERIOUS and ALARMING issue for us customers because:

1)It's dangerous to our health and property.

2)Samsung has been blaming it on the customers for years and charging us for replacing the battery when actually the mistake was on the part of Samsung.

So, if Samsung is not owning their manufacturing defects, it's time for us customers to wake up. What we can do:

1) Check our devices which are still under warranty just before the warranty period ends for any type of backpanel issues, which may be the result of a potentially bad battery. In this case get it repaired for free.

2)Opt for extended warranty because we have already committed the mistake of trusting an unethical company like Samsung. Now the only option is to reduce our loses to the maximum by extending the warranty. Don't worry your money invested for this purpose will be worth as almost all Samsung devices will have a battery or display issue within 2 years.

3) Most importantly - AVOID buying Samsung in the future. Even cheap Chinese devices have better durability. This again is now validated by the tests done by these YouTubers as well as by the experiences of thousands of common users like us.

4) If you cannot avoid Samsung due to any illogical reasons, at least don't go for 2-3 year old Samsung devices on discount during sales. These devices are likely stored for more than a year after the manufacturing date.

5) Approach the consumer court if you are facing this issue and your device is just out of warranty.

Take care fellow members !

Nb: for fanboys - yes, this issue has been majorly reported for unused/stored devices. But the point to be noted here is that NONE OF THE OTHER BRANDS HAVE THIS ISSUE.

I have a Note 20 Ultra 5 G. Ultra as in the battery has swollen to the point that it pushed the phone apart in an Otterbox case. Called Samsung today and they said it was out of warranty.  Yep 2 years old and I can pay to send it in and pay the charges to fix it. I guess it is time to STOP SUPPORTING SAMSUNG
