Alarm adds new music file

When I select an already downloaded music file from my storage as my alarm tone, it gets added as a new file in the storage, creating a duplication of the same file. Is it normal or a virus?

But it creates a duplicate file of the same. Why's that so?

maybe so that if you delete the mp3 from your folder you wont loose the alarm tone

Maybe, but this issue didn't happen before and that too it happens only to few mp3 files and not all. I am confused.

i remember i used to have such duplicate files in the ringtone folder..,try to delete and see if the alarm tone works
