I've noticed that battery life seems to improve in certain situations, such as when the device is in a low-power state or when data and power-intensive applications are disabled. However, I'm still puzzled as to how it could manage 31 hours of continuous video playback without recharging. Even with power-saving features enabled, that seems unlikely.
