I have the same problem. Mostly with SlingTV . This is definitely a Samsung problem, and they are ignoring it. I went through the hoops with customer service, and the best they could come up with was send it in(which I know won't work) or, and this is the good part, buy a new model. I explained that it is less than a year old, and was told that the new model is better, and sometimes you need to upgrade. Worst experience ever. And, no I won't be buying a new model or any Samsung tablet again after this.

The tablet simply has design FLAWS. Stretching the manufacturer to the T most cheapest possible results in this.

A Two hundreds of dollars pile of junk.

while keeping 20% free space in storage does help a bit, Sling, Paramount+ and other TV streaming  apps I used are useless to watch on this tablet. Also battery set to NOT save or to NOT use least energy, in other words the battery is set to provide most performances instead of long battery life. Reset did not do anything.

Disney + and youtube are fine to watch

I feel Samsung stole money from me and I certainly triple check before opening my wallet next time for that below grade quality is a pill too big to swallow on top of auto download samsung apps that CANNOT be uninstalled is really shoving down my throat I made a BAD PURCHASE.

This is NOT ACCEPTABLE by any mean

This has worked for me, so far.

Install Macrodroid

Add macro

Triggers/Applications/Application Launched

Select Application/s (the ones you have with streaming issues)

Actions/Device Actions/UI interaction/Long Click/Current Focus

Actions/Conditions/Loops/Continue Loop

Enter Macro Name (create a name), then add macro (bottom right button)

From app's home screen, Go to  Macros menu button and make sure your new macro is turned on.

Android Permissions

Accessibility/Installed Services

Turn on all 4 Macrodroid services

Additionally under Macrodroid turn on  Macrodroid shortcut

Works for me on Kayo. Let me know how you go

Holy cow this is irritating. It's clearly fixable if keeping your finger on the tablet "solves" the issue.

Come on Samsung. How can this still be a problem after all these complaints?

This is the worst bug I have ever seen on a device meant to consume media, this is an embarrassment that it's been over a year like this , please samsung fix this, how could they not know about this bug after all this time?

I have the same issues, but a finger on the screen fixes the stuttering. Unbelievable how samsung ignores this problem.

Thinking of getting an ipad next time... 😡

Same here with Kayo Sports. Finger on the screen fixes it bizarrely.  Seriously samsung, fix the issue

Just installed the official Formula One tv app and experiencing the same issues. The weird thing is that the live coverage seems to be ok, but when watching a replay, the stream is lagging, similar to the issues reported with the Dutch Ziggo app.

Has there been any feedback from Samsung at all?

I'm still having issues w/ choppy streaming. I noticed if I simply touch the screen, the video choppiness disappears. Is something touch-display wise affecting video playback?

Experiencing the same issue - very jittery video playback, especially visible in panning shots. Most visible and consistent (but not limited to) in Disney+ (Hotstar variant app used in South Africa). Excellent sample scene is opening of recent Obi Wan series episode 5. The first scene after the series title card appears, basically at the 2 minute mark of the episode.

Following any suggestions so far has no affect (adaptive screen brightness, power management, mc player video codec settings, etc)

BUT as suggested by Drustybucket and others, keeping a finger on the screen makes the jittering dissapear.

Further testing - the Disney plus app has a built in screen lock feature (little lock icon on the top right) to prevent screen touches from interfering with playback. Activating this option also fixes the problem during playback, pointing ever more so to bad software/optimization from Samsing side. Likely something like an overactive touch detection thread???

Specifically bought a Samsung device due to my past experience with their build quality vs other brands, and must say I'm terribly dissapointed that an issue that has been highlighted for so long has yet to be adressed.
