Yesterday during a meeting I needed to make notes, but my Tab S8+ wouldn't respond. I tried hard rebooting several times with no success. The screen just stayed black. Wouldn't respond to any touch or button presses, but I could periodically hear message notifications meaning it was still alive.
Later I plugged it into the charging cable and tried hard rebooting again without success. Eventually I took it to my IT department and they connected it to a battery pack and held the power button in for a long time before it came back online.
They asked if I had run any updates recently which I confirmed. I usually download updates and schedule the install for 2am. They told me it might have been because the power cable wasn't plugged in during the install of the update.
My confusion is that when it rebooted, the battery was sitting at 74%, so it wasn't drained. Should I be booking it in with Samsung support to confirm there's nothing wrong or could it really have been because the charger wasn't plugged in during the update install?
