Bought tab s7 fe lte and after 3 months of purchase the nib breaks, even after careful usage probably due to cheap quality of plastic. Decided to enquire customer service center. They slammed ₹2560 for full spen replacement as it comes under physical damage and spen nibs are not provided separately by Samsung as they said. Samsung really u can't provide extra nibs for such costly tablets. It was not available at our local mobile shops also. Alibaba is banned in our country so can't order from there too. Online nibs were around 500 rupees but delivery time was more than a week, and i had an urgent usage. So I decided to make my own nibs using wooden toothpick and sandpaper.
I know it's diy so it's not finished as original but it works better than the original as it has bigger tip and feels more like real pen.
INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE A SPEN DIY NIB
- USE ONE MATERIAL ONLY LIKE MATCHSTICK, TOOTHPICK OR ANY WOODEN STICK WHICH IS EASY TO SAND
- USE SANDPAPER OF GRIT 150 OR ABOVE
- MAKE SURE THAT NIB IS NEITHER TOO TIGHT NOR TOO LOOSE AFTER SANDING
- TIP OF NIB SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN 4 MM OTHERWISE IT WILL REGISTER IMPROPER TOUCH RESPONSE IN SLANT POSITION
- WHILE SANDING DONT APPLY MUCH PRESSURE WHEN IT BECOMES THIN OR IT WILL BREAK, THEN U WILL HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH
- IF IT REGISTERS TOUCH EVEN FROM 2-3CM IN AIR THEN IT MEANS THE NIB IS TOUCHING THE INNER WALLS OF SPEN, SAND THAT EXCESS PART
- NECK OF NIB MUST NOT BE TIGHT OTHERWISE IT WONT WORK PROPERLY. DONT WORRY IT WON'T FALL OF THAT EASILY.
- DONT WORRY FIRST PROTOTYPE WILL ALWAYS BREAK OR FAIL. SO BE PREPAPRED FOR THAT
I used multiple materials like sewing stainless steel needle, plastic needle, rubber stick but none of them worked as good as wooden toothpick. Plus u can always make a new one if it breaks.

My DIY Cost: ₹0 (as everything was available)
Yours Cost: ₹20 at max.( For that sand paper)
It's still here..but I don't use it
