My adapter stopped working in just 8 months. (3 months warranty)

Samsung knew it would fail after 3 months. 

Usually adapters have 12 months warranty. It was a 25 watts charger and I used it just once daily(to charge my tablet). 

The cable still works. There is some kind of smell(fumes kind, burning smell, no visible fumes though) around the part where the cable inserts.

Go to service center, 6 month warranty is there. They will check and peovide you replacement if in case of manufacturing defect. You have to show the purchase bill.
