Troubleshooting Steps for Samsung DeX Issues:
-
Clear the DeX App Cache and Data: This is a very effective first step to reset the application's configuration.
Go to Settings > Apps. Find and select the DeX app (you might need to select "Show system apps" in the filter menu). Tap Storage, then Clear cache and Clear data. Restart your phone and try launching DeX again. -
Clear One UI Home Cache/Data: The home screen launcher can sometimes cause conflicts with the DeX interface.
Go to Settings > Apps. Find and select One UI Home. Tap Storage, then Clear cache, and if the problem persists, tap Clear data (Note: this will reset your home screen icon layout). Restart your phone. -
Wipe the Cache Partition: This procedure helps resolve glitches caused by corrupted system files after an OS update.
Turn off your phone and connect it to a computer with a USB cable. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons until the Samsung logo appears to enter Recovery Mode. Use the volume keys to navigate to "Wipe cache partition" and the power key to select it. Select "Yes", then "Reboot system now". -
Check Your Hardware (Cables/Adapters): If using a wired connection, a simple cable or adapter issue can prevent DeX from launching.
Ensure you are using official Samsung DeX-certified accessories (dock, adapter, or cable). Try a different high-quality USB-C to HDMI cable or hub. Check for lint or debris in your phone's USB port. -
Check for an "Auto Blocker" Setting: New security features might be interfering with the connection.
Go to Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker and ensure this is off while you try to connect.
