Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim certification
A Samsung device with model number SM-F958N has been spotted on the Safety Korea Certification site. SM-F958N is said to be the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim (or Ultra). So, Samsung seems to be quickly getting the foldable certified ahead of launch.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim launch date, availability
As per the South Korean publication, The Chosun Daily, Samsung could launch Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim in South Korea on September 25th.
Later, the foldable could launch in China as Samsung Galaxy W25, as a competitor to the likes of Huawei Mate X6 (upcoming) and Honor Magic V3.
There’s no word on the Z Fold 6 Slim’s availability in other markets besides the aforementioned two. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim design details
The Z Fold 6 Slim (model: SM-F958N, codename: Q6A) could be Samsung’s thinnest foldable to date. It could be thick at 10mm only, which would be slimmer than the 12.1mm thickness of the regular Z Fold 6.
To achieve this slender profile, Samsung reportedly has removed the S-Pen compartment and the related 0.3mm digitizer film meant for the pen’s input. The company could have worked with its sister concerns like Samsung Displays and Samsung Electro-Mechaniscs to slim down components like the display panel and cameras. According to an Industry person, “Samsung is doing everything they can to make it even 0.1 millimetres thinner…The global smartphone market is shifting its focus to how thin the next product can be”.
Although thinner, the Slim edition could sport bigger displays. Its inner screen could be 8mm against 7.6mm of the regular model, and the cover screen could be 6.5 inches diagonal-to-diagonal compared to 6.3 inches of the regular Z Fold 6.
It could still have the larger Samsung design language though. The rumour mill suggests it would be available in a black colour option. The vanilla Z Fold 6 retails in multiple colours, viz., Navy, Silver Shadow, Pink, White and Black.
As per another report by the Dutch publication The Galaxy Club, Samsung could upgrade the Under Display Camera from 4MP (on the regular Z Fold 6) to 5MP. Rest, it is claimed to have a 10MP front camera and a 12MP ultrawide snapper (the same as the regular Z Fold 6).
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim (or Ultra) could carry a price tag of about $2,100 (Rs 1,76,135.40). In comparison, the regular Z Fold 6 launched in India at Rs 1,09,999 (12+256GB).
