When mic is turned on in a game, audio output switches to speakers not bluetooth

I am playing BGMI, a mobile game. When the in game mic is off, the audio is properly routed through the Bluetooth device (Apple AirPods Pro). When I turn the mic on, the audio comes from the speakers instead of the AirPods. I need help. In Bluetooth, both call and audio are ticked for the AirPods.

Same goes with me but that fault is from BGMI, now BGMI has fixed this

I also faced the same issue with BGMI recently. Going to Settings > Apps > Battlegrounds India > Permissions and then toggling permissions for Microphone and Nearby Devices to 'Don't allow' and then to 'Allow only while using the app' fixed the issue. Restart the game and reconnect the buds just incase.
