Unread messages on Messenger app

Has anyone experienced on the messenger app that the unread messages used to be in bold face but now it is like a read message now.

I know. However, why would the update made such changes?
I mean, we upgraded from UI 4 but none of this happened.
This is not just a suggestion.
What I'm telling is a feature that has been there for so long and now it's gone.
