McAfee Security researchers recently revealed that more than 60 apps have been infected with the Goldoson malware. The malware-infected malicious apps listed below have been downloaded and installed over 100 million times.

The Goldoson malware collects a history of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth device information, including a list of installed applications and nearby GPS locations. In addition, the library is equipped with the functionality to commit ad fraud by clicking on ads in the background without the user’s consent.

McAfee reported the discovered apps to Google. Google used the Play Protect service to disable the Golson virus-infected apps, but users need to manually check and remove malicious apps from devices.
