I’m grateful for this platform to raise awareness on societal issues. Today, I want to share an unsettling experience about women’s safety.
This morning, I went for a walk at 5 AM, first with my dad and then alone. On my way back, a man on a bike made vulgar comments before speeding off into a side lane. The road was empty, and I spoke to two women nearby who were shocked as they had never faced such an incident in over 10 years.
👉 It’s alarming that even in this era of AI, incidents like this still happen, leaving women unsure of what actions to take or where to seek safety. It’s a reminder that a few individuals can disrupt the peace for everyone.
👉 This incident has also made me think about the safety of schoolchildren, especially girls. While our literacy rate has reached 74.08%, we still need to improve awareness and mentalities on how to handle such situations How long will we continue to face this fear?
