Samsung has dominated the area with it's sizzling security updates distribution. And also left Google behind by announcing an additional major OS update than Pixel devices for flagship Galaxy phones and select mid-rangers.
Google’s Pixel smartphones support major OS updates for up to 3 years and 4 years of regular security patches.
Next year, OnePlus is going to ship it's next flagship which will have major OS updates for up to 4 years and 5 years of regular security patches same like Samsung.
Hence Samsung needs to revise its policy and provide 5 major Android upgrades to flagship phones and 6 years of regular security patches.
Samsung should consider bringing up to 5 major OS upgrades to consumers who purchased double-priced flagship phones like Galaxy S and Z series. Also all mid-rangers Galaxies should get up to 4 major Android upgrades.
