Samsung Pay, now called Samsung Wallet has been key feature for Samsung phones since long time.
It allowed ease of use of credit cards. It used to be magic when I used my phone to pay for people around.
Recently with Samsung Wallet many useful features are added like storing digital ID cards - AADHAR, PAN, Driving license even vaccination certificates.
But support for more types of cards is still missing. I have IFDC Bank card and it is not supported. Same case for AMEX cards.
What I am most disappointed about is lack of support for Rupay Credit cards. Rupay cards are gaining huge market since launch.
Now Rupay cards can be linked and used for Merchant UPI payments which is really convenient.
But suported cards and types are still limited on Samsung wallet. Check following for list of supported cards.
Not having Rupay card support is big miss by Samsung. Rupay Credit cards which support UPI for merchant payments is going to really important in future. Now I can use rupay cards on Gpay, Paytm and even CRED for UPI payments to Merchants via QR code scan.
I ask those responsible for development of Samsung to look into this and add support soon. We have requests for this since 2017 and Samsung has totally ignored it.
