No Sim Card Inserted error after doing the update

I did the software update today, after the update finished, my phone now says that there is no sim card inserted. Is there anyone else having the same problem?

I restarted my phone a couple of times, cleaned the sim slot and the sim but still the same.

I think you have yo go to your service provider to request a sim swap.

You can also try the following 

1. Please go to settings>> general management>> reset >> reset network settings

2. Please go to Settings>>Apps>> Tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner>>Show System Apps>> Software Update>> Storage>> Clear Cache.

3. Then please perform a soft reset of your device.

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds.

*The device may take a screenshot, however keep holding the buttons for a few more seconds.

Hi Seumo, I just tried putting another sim card in my device, the sim card works. So I guess it it my sim card that is faulty

@Moniquebotes wait few hours as the system update is still new everything will work out again

After doing the software update my phone says emergency calls only/ no sim. Tried the above solutions. Not working. Is there something wrong with the software update. This is very frustrating.

I had to do a simswop, was the only way I could get my sim to work again.

But why? I don't understand why ? It worked perfectly before the update
