Linking Contacts helps to merge (or join) contacts from multiple sources (Phone, SIM, Facebook, Gmail,etc. ). This helps to remove duplicate contact entries in the phone's address book. After linking two contacts, when you try to edit, two device options are shown for editing in two separate contacts (which were merged/linked). Sometimes, the phone may put together two contacts not required by user. If so, then follow these steps to unlink the contact: 1. View the joined contact. 2. Tap Manage linked contacts (Link icon found near 'Connected via' section) 3. Tap the Minus symbol (-) next to the contact to unlink.
That's the procedure we know. The problem is that the phone automatically linked wrong contacts on its own. I have been unlinking more than 75 contacts so far. Really frustrating one to do. This is a defect to fix. We are not asking for workaround.
