The range would also depend on the device you are trying to connect to and any barrier in between and other interfering signals. Also the longer range provided by bluetooth 5.0 cannot be harnessed until bluetooth 5.0 support is natively provided in android oreo. So once the phone is upgraded to oreo, maybe we can expect better bluetooth 5.0 feature support.
