Yes completely safe but go only for built in apps or else chose reputed source..am using it for samsung health

Apk mirror is trusted I also install apks from there

It's safe but still I would recommend using playstore or galaxy store for everything and only sideload when it's absolutely necessary and there's no other way. I know Android provides us this handy feature but it has it's cons too. Using your phone in close manner downloading stuff from reputed sites is advisable for better functioning of the device and keeping it clean.
