BE-AWARE : The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a warning to Android users. India's cybersecurity unit spotted multiple high risk vulnerabilities in Qualcomm and MediaTek processor smartphones. The agency listed Android versions 12, 13, and 14 software that are affected due to the latest identified vulnerabilities. These multiple vulnerabilities, reported in Android, could be exploited by an attacker to obtain sensitive information and gain elevated privileges. These vulnerabilities exist in Android due to flaws in the Framework, System, Kernel, Arm component, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm closed-source components.
A Qualcomm spokesperson spoke to India Today Tech on this issue "For the issues mentioned, Qualcomm made fixes available to its OEMs in advance of the August Android Security bulletin. We encourage end users to apply security updates as they become available from device makers."
NOTE - Samsung Exynos OR Apple chipset currently doesn't encountered this vulnerabilities.
