Dial *#0*# ,if it open a diagnosis menu it is a genuine device. Besides this you can always check IMEI code by dialing *#06# and match the number on box.
I wish there was some online samsung website where we can run some checking process for authenticity of device.

But Apple does have that 'online website' where one can see whether the device is real or **bleep** right?

Thats partial checking as it only check the number , so we can say Device is real but dont know about the box as anyone can paste the sticker on it with real SN on it.
