This is for the US, but the rules are the same here.
My personal recommendation: I am using a Z Fold 5. Until Z Fold 3, if you take the screenguard off the screen will be damaged (Inner folding screen). After that, from Fold 4 things changed. Now even if you take the guard off, the screen is fine.
Yes, the inner screen is fragile and does need protection. Specially if you use S Pen.
