no it can't be used because for this you need infrared sensor which S7Edge doesn't have unless you have a smart tv which can be controlled via samsung connect.

Thank you for sharing your concern. we would like to inform you that S7 and S7 edge does not contain IR sensor so it can not be used as Remote device, however you can use smart connect in your device for controlling the electrical devices.
