Macro mode is just 2x digital zoom. you can just step back and zoom to 2x

yaa right... you can either use 3x optical zoom by stepping back a bit or go to pro mode and adjust your focus to manual and bring that slider to the most left and see if you get satisfied with the distance.

Use telephoto lens or go for extra lens(clip on)
