Workaround - Jio 5G not working in US bought Galaxy phones

Hello,

I had trouble in enrolling into Jio 5G welcome offer. The message in MyJio app stated that the sim is inserted in a non compatible 5G phone even though the sim was in my Galaxy S22 Ultra (XAA region) factory unlocked phone bought from US.

I enabled all the NR/5G bands as instructed in the XDA developer forum. But still the same message in the MyJio app. Reaching out to Jio customer care also didn't help. I assume Jio doesn't have the US IMEI numbers in their 5G list. That could be the reason for the error.

Anyways, I found a workaround to get Jio 5G working. I thought I will post in the community so that some of you too can try and get enrolled.

I inserted my sim card in one of my friends' 5G phone (bought from India). Once the Jio connection established, I opened the MyJio app (in the same phone) and the error message was gone. I just had to go through a basic checks like location, handset software, setting etc. Once that's completed, I got enrolled into Jio 5G.

I swapped the sim back in my S22 Ultra and 5G started working in the phone. Attaching a screenshot of the speed test I did.

PS: I converted my Jio physical sim card to eSim since I use Airtel as my daily driver. 5G works fine as eSim also as you see in the screenshot.

Let me know what help is needed. You can first follow this link to see how you can enable all the bands. Band N78 gives you the best performance. So, you need to ensure that it is enabled. It is anyways better to enable all bands.

Will this work on s23 ultra? Also please suggest if this will not stop the updates from samsung and warranty doesnt get void?

Is it safe to do from 3rd party site... scared to do since there will be no warranty in India

What to do from 3ed party site?? If you are referring to Odin, that is pretty safe as far as I know.. Anyways, upto you..

Bro I tried your method when I inserted sim in Indian 5g device it shows jio 5g activation within 48 hours 

I can't put my sim for 48 hours in my friend phone 

Any solution ???

I tried all the steps and methods but it enables only sub 6 n78 band and mmwave bands jio needs n26 and i am already with xaa us firmware does i need to install other firmware? Which firmware in yours phone
