I have noticed that after the update of November Security Patch, my Netflix is showing Widevine L3 instead of L1 and it's frustrating now. Also i have noticed that after each update the Video Playback specification gets back to SD in Both Netflix and Amazon Prime. So to fix that you have to clear cache of the app and it gets back to normal. But is sometimes work and sometimes not specially with the Netflix app. Hope Samsung fixes this issue later on.

I faced the same issue. Clear the Netflix app data, do not log in, just restart your phone, and then log in; it will be fixed.
