I've noticed an issue with my S24 Ultra that's quite puzzling. Despite having a 12MP lens, the camera is capturing images at a lower resolution of 9MP. This discrepancy came to light when I compared my photos with those taken by a relative's S23, which consistently shoots at the full 12MP in same environment and situation, resulting in higher quality images.

This situation is particularly frustrating because one would expect a device like the S24 Ultra to leverage its camera capabilities fully, especially when it's equipped with a 12MP lens. The reduction in image resolution to 9MP is a significant limitation, detracting from the overall photo quality and not meeting the high standards expected from such a premium smartphone.

Any resolution for S24 Ultra 9MP photos?

Additionally, there are concerns regarding the post-processing of images taken with the S24 Ultra's other lenses.

Check in your settings and see if there is any way you can select the Megapixel as like that in s23

Checked but no option, like even if 12mp is selected, the photo comes out at 9mp.

🤔 strange...i hope its not software issue or a bug..maybe you can check out youtube videos of reviews by others to see if its the same or there are some other reasons.

Shoot the photo in 4:3 aspect ratio, then it will show 12 MP.

The photo you posted is shot in 1:1 ratio
