That's a peculiar issue! It sounds like the system volume is muted, but you're still getting some kind of audio feedback when you interact with the volume buttons in sound mode. Let's troubleshoot this. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and how to address them:
1. Check Media Volume (Separate from System Volume):
* Sometimes, media volume (for music, videos, etc.) is separate from the system volume (for notifications, ringtones, and UI sounds). Even if system volume is off, media might still be active.
* How to check: When you press the volume buttons, you might see a slider appear on the screen. Often, there's a small icon (like a musical note or a settings cog) next to it that indicates which volume you're adjusting. Tap that icon to expand and see all the volume controls (ringtone, media, notifications, system, etc.). Make sure the media volume is also turned down or muted.
2. Notification Sounds Override:
* Some apps might have their own custom notification sounds that play even when the main system volume is muted.
* How to check:
* Go to your phone's Settings.
* Look for Notifications or Apps & notifications.
* Go into App notifications and check the settings for individual apps that might be sending you sounds. See if they have custom sound settings that bypass the system volume.
3. Accessibility Settings:
* Certain accessibility features can sometimes produce sounds or haptic feedback that might be mistaken for system volume.
* How to check:
* Go to your phone's Settings.
* Look for Accessibility.
* Explore options like TalkBack, Select to Speak, Sound Amplifier, or any other sound-related accessibility settings. See if any of these are enabled and might be causing the sounds you're hearing. Try turning them off to see if the issue resolves.
4. Keyboard Sounds or Haptics:
* The keyboard often has its own sound and vibration settings. Even if system sounds are off, you might still hear clicks or feel vibrations when typing, which could be triggered by pressing the volume buttons if the keyboard is active at that moment.
* How to check:
* Go to your phone's Settings.
* Look for System, Sound & vibration, or something similar.
* Find Keyboard or Virtual keyboard settings.
* Check for options like Sound on keypress or Haptic feedback. Turn these off.
5. System Sounds in Sound Mode:
* You mentioned this happens in "sound mode." Could you clarify which sound mode you're referring to (e.g., Ring, Vibrate, Silent)? Even in vibrate mode, some subtle haptic feedback might occur when pressing buttons. In silent mode, there should ideally be no sound or vibration.
* How to check: Ensure you are truly in Silent mode if you want no sound or vibration.
6. Third-Party Apps:
* Some third-party apps might have their own sound settings that operate independently of the system volume.
* How to check: Think about any recently installed apps that might have sound-related features. Try temporarily uninstalling them one by one to see if the issue disappears.
7. Software Glitch:
* It's possible there's a temporary software glitch causing this behavior.
* How to fix:
* Restart your phone: This is often the simplest and most effective solution for minor software issues.
* Check for software updates: Go to Settings > System > System update (or similar) and see if there are any pending updates for your phone's operating system.
8. Hardware Issue (Less Likely):
* In rare cases, a hardware malfunction could be causing unintended audio feedback.
* How to check: If none of the above steps work, this might be a possibility. You might need to contact your phone manufacturer's support or take your phone to a repair shop for diagnosis.
To help me narrow down the issue, could you tell me:
* What is the exact model of your phone?
* Which "sound mode" are you referring to (Ring, Vibrate, Silent)?
* What kind of sound are you hearing when you press the volume buttons? Is it a click, a beep, a vibrati

I appreciate your assistance. I have carried out a system settings reset, and subsequently, the issue has been resolved. The issue occurred when I installed Sound Assistant from Good Lock.
