Voice over New Radio (VoNR) or Voice over 5G (Vo5G) support

Remember guys, when 4G was launched by Jio, most of the phones in the market support 4G but not VoLTE. So, those phones without VoLTE had to switch to 3G to make calls. The same problem will be coming soon in 5G. In non - standalone 5G like Airtel, when one makes a call on 5G network, the network switch to 4G to make calls. However, Jio's Standalone 5G will use VoNR/Vo5G. As of now, only Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 series supports VoNR/Vo5G. Hopefully,  Samsung will be able to enable VoNR/Vo5G for some devices like they did with Galaxy S21 in the US. Your thoughts on this guys. Let's discuss.

Like I said, only Galaxy S22 and 21 series support VoNR for now

Are u using jio 5g on s21 ?

No. I am using S22 and I don't live in any of the 5G cities 🙄

Most of the 5g handset support vonr but we need to wait for the result.
Check specification sheet if they mention SA support then 100% it will support,
We need to check this with jio users.

I think most of the 5G smartphones, if not all, supports both SA and NSA 5G as per their spec sheets. Like the voice part of 4G had nothing to do with the 4G band support as VoLTE was altogether a totally new technology of making voice calls over LTE, I am just speculating the same with 5G. I may be wrong though.

Most of the samsung handset support volte
Example j2 launched in 2015 as lte,
Jio came 2016 at the time j2 supported volte,
Even I was using moto g3 I just inserted the sim it start showing volte, just like that recent samsung handset support vonr,
For year back handset they will provide OTA

Yes. There was no issue with Samsung phones back then and volte works out of the box. Let's pray that VoNR works out of the box this time around. Going by the current 5g scenerio, the chances are slim. Samsung might need to push a software update for it to work. Just speculation.
