I have seriously been deprived of a decent battery backup on my s24 ultra recently. Earlier I used to get decent, but not great, 6+ hours of SOT. But since past couple of weeks I am getting only 4-4.5 hours of SOT and also there was extreme overheating even on basic usage.

And I found many other affected with same issue in members community. Tried and tested multiple tips and tricks which I found online, but nothing worked.

I was about to format my device today, get software reflashed at the service center tomorrow morning. But today I came across a fact that turning off RAM PLUS (located in device care inside settings) might just solve this battery drain problem to a great extent.

I can't be 100% certain as it is too early, but I do have a feeling that turning RAM PLUS off is doing the trick. Although there is little difference in phone's performance, it felt a lot faster and blazing fast with RAM plus on. But with RAM PLUS off I am probably getting a couple of minutes more for ever one percentage of battery juice.

I would suggest anyone facing extensive battery drain to try it, and share your experience here so that more people can get to know about it. I too while share my experience by tomorrow. But from whatever short experience i have had till now (half day), I can feel the difference on battery life, it just seems to last a bit longer.

I have turned it off ever since I bought the phone; never faced lagging or battery issues. Nowadays, phones do not need a virtual RAM. 👍

I wish I knew this earlier. Anyways, late is better than never. 😅

Was very optimistic but doesn't seem to help much. 1729676232377.jpg

It will take some time. You won't see significant change so early. Wait for a week and see. If it doesn't work then check with service centre. Not sure how old is your device, mine took almost a month to get settled.
Are you using 5G or on wifi?

Okay, let's wait and watch. My device is close to getting 10 months old now, bought it on launch date. And I am on 4G+ right now, as jio 5G services are affected since last week. Also I experimented on wifi, not much difference.

See after 6.1.1 and October update even battery backup is reduced a bit for me as well but not to an extent that it bothers me. Also random heating is there. My phone usually on wifi which also saves battery. And from few days I have been using light profile to reduce consumption further. But yes if issue persists better to check with Samsung and get it resolved before it's too late.

Did something more last night. Moved all contacts from Google to phone and turned off goodle contacts sync. Turned off background data usage for few rarely used apps, disabled sending diagnostic data, turned off auto brightness. Let's see what happens today.
