Hey fellow Samsung Members! 👋
Ever captured one of those super-satisfying, endlessly scrolling screenshots? Maybe it's an epic chat thread, a fascinating article, or a recipe that just keeps going. Samsung's scroll capture is a fantastic tool for grabbing all the details, right? We love having powerful features like this and the versatile Samsung Gallery app at our fingertips.
But have you ever encountered this little mystery?
You take that magnificent long screenshot—it looks perfect. You send it as a document via WhatsApp or Telegram to preserve quality. Then, you tap to view it from the chat, choose our trusty Samsung Gallery, and... wait, why is it suddenly blurry? 🤔
It's a head-scratcher!
You check the original file in Gallery directly – crystal clear.
You try opening it from the chat using Google Photos – also clear.
It seems this blurriness only pops up when Samsung Gallery is asked to open these extra-long images directly from within the messaging app.
Turns out, some of us (on devices like the Note 10+ and Galaxy A52, according to reports) have stumbled upon a specific quirk. The technical deep dive suggests it's not the file itself, nor the messaging app messing things up. Instead, it seems like Samsung Gallery, under these very specific circumstances (being opened by another app to view a file with such extreme dimensions), sometimes struggles to render it perfectly—maybe due to how it handles previews or memory in that moment.
It's like asking it to sprint a marathon without a proper warm-up – it gets there, but a bit fuzzy!

The Good News & How We Can Help!
First off, our phones and Gallery are still awesome! This seems to be a specific bug affecting a particular scenario. Secondly, there are easy workarounds:
Save First: Save the screenshot file from your chat to your phone, then open it directly from the Gallery app or My Files. It should look perfect!
Alternate Viewer: When prompted after tapping the file in chat, choose Google Photos or another viewer if you have one installed.
Most importantly, this is where our community shines! Samsung has built tools like the Samsung Members app for us to share feedback directly. If you've experienced this:
Report it!
Go to Samsung Members > Get Help > Error Report.
Describe the steps: taking a long screenshot, sending as a document, viewing from WhatsApp/Telegram using Samsung Gallery, and noting the blurriness versus opening directly.
Mentioning your phone model and software version helps too!
By reporting these specific bugs, we help the wizards at Samsung pinpoint the issue and potentially fix it in a future update for Gallery or the system software.
---
Let’s keep sharing these amazing long screenshots (clearly!) and work together to make our Galaxy experience even smoother. It’s not about complaining, but about constructive feedback to polish an already great system.
Anyone else encountered this specific Gallery adventure?
Share your experiences and let’s help Samsung iron out this quirky little bug! ✨
