Edit: Clear data for wallpaper and styles + force stop. This solved the issue I was facing

Hi I have an S23 and recently I've started facing an issue where when I try to go to the wallpaper and lock screen section it crashes once I select a wallpaper.
If I hold on the lock screen to edit it and then select a wallpaper, it crashes.
If I try to do the same from within settings, it crashes.
The only way to get it to work is to select the desired photo from the gallery and set it as a wallpaper from there.
However due to this issue, I'm unable to manage wallpapers from routines and it's a bit frustrating.
Anybody else facing something similar?
I've also sent the crash reports to Samsung and was optimistic that the recent update would fix it, but it didn't.

Go to the settings and reset the all settings then try it...

Though highly inconvenient, I still gave it a shot but no luck 😐. It's the same after resetting the settings. I'm glad that I backed my settings up before the reset so I can restore them 😅. Thanks for the suggestion, but seems like it doesn't work for me. 🥲

Facing the same issue. Have a Note 10. If i select only Home Screen to set it up, then it works. But if you try to set up home and lock screen wallpaper, then it crashes.

It works if you are setting it up from the Lockstar app.

I thought the lockstar app might be causing the issue, but setting up wallpaper on both, works in that app. And if you check the recent apps page, it is using the Wallpaper and Style app only.

Setting wallpaper through any other app or google's wallpaper app works.

Meaning this is a bug in OneUI Home or in that specific app and not some widespread issue

If you check the edit I made on the post, you might find the solution(it worked for me). Check if it works for you as well

that was the first thing I tried. Didn't work. Did same for lockstar. And other wallpaper apps and services I had.

Its been there since last security update. I think it will get fixed in the next

@piyushbhandari

How do you clear the wallpaper cache?

It's not an app so how do you get there?

Global search wallpaper and style in app drawer. It will take you to the settings page.
Click on any(lock screen/home screen wallpaper)
Swipe up. You will see wallpaper and style as an app window.
Click on the app icon and go to app info.
You can reset from here.
