Samsung Galaxy devices will receive a crucial firmware update in August 2024. Samsung confirmed via Forbes that a critical Galaxy update will be released next month. Galaxy users are requested to ensure this is installed as soon as available.

According to Forbes, Samsung has given early confirmation of the August 2024 update. It’s said to be “more critical than most” signaling major fixes. It has been investigated that Pixel’s zero-day vulnerability literally affects all Android devices.

The Pixel CVE made headlines in June 2024, with the US gov ordering all federal employees to install the patch within the deadline. As all Android devices are affected by the vulnerability, Samsung has just confirmed the importance of the next firmware.

Earlier, Google warned that it would work with Android vendors to prepare a fix software. Non-pixel Android phones are expected to get a fix within 3 months.

Meanwhile, Samsung confirmed that “the target schedule for this fix is August… [albeit] this may vary on the network provider and device.”

Samsung is currently expanding the July security patch to Galaxy devices. The company is expected to begin rolling out One UI 6.1.1 features next month. We could see the crucial security improvements attached alongside.
