yeah, there's a bug.. It happened to my mom's mobile as well. She has xiaomi. First, clear ur cache. Then clear ur data. Then uninstall all updates. Restart. Once done, go to playstore and continue etc. When you see your Google account at the top, go to settings and tap on update playstore. Give it some time like 4-5 minutes. It should work properly then. If it works, u can mark it as a solution. 👍
